Breaking News: St Kitts’ Team unity pickets governor

OMG-Breaking News

Team Unity – the coalition of former government ministers and opposition People’ Action Movement – has mounted a surprise protest in the capital of St. Kitts & Nevis to try to force the hand of the speaker of the House of Representatives.

The protesters are pressing for their leader Dr Timothy Harris to be installed as prime minister, or for, as he puts it, “fresh elections”. It comes after a court decision affirming that, by blocking a vote of no confidence in Prime Minister Dr Denzil Douglas, the speaker is in breech of the law.

The demonstration follows more than a year of such resistance.

There has been a series of resignations from Dr Douglas’ government as a result of the impasse, and Dr Douglas fired Dr Harris, who then took up leadership of Team Unity.

You guys have the wrong concept of how power is attained in SKN, its done through the voting process. not through the insidious route!!
