The former Honourary Consul to Miami Gilbert Boustany has been named as Antigua and Barbuda’s new Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates.

The Information Minister Melford Nicholas made the disclosure in a post cabinet press briefing this morning.

Boustany replaces Casroy James who resigned effective March 31st

James has remained silent on his resignation…
But the Government Chief of Staff Lionel Max Hurst has put it down to continued international press coverage of James’ alleged involvement in an attempt by Odebrecht officials to bribe Antiguan government officials.

James has admitted to accepting funds in a custodial account and has agreed to have the money returned.
He has also denied any wrong doing.
