A five-member team is currently in the Bahamas as Antigua & Barbuda prepares for competition in the International Association of Athletics Federation (IAAF) BTC World Relays slated to race off on April 22.
The team is led by senior national sprinter Daniel Bailey, and is missing two members from the original team which represented Antigua & Barbuda at last year’s Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
The other members of the team are Jared Jarvis, Richard Richardson, Chavaughn Walsh and Tahir Walsh.
Missing from the line-up is sprinter Cejhae Greene who has clocked the fastest time so far this season in the 100 meters of 10.10 and former national sprinter Miguel Francis who has since switched his allegiance to Great Britain.
According to the Antigua & Barbuda Athletics Association (ABAA), Greene’s absence is due to an injury he had sustained.
Ironically, the athlete’s name still appears on the list submitted to the IAAF ahead of the World Relays. Greene has also run twice since the start of the year with his latest outing being one week ago in the Gamecock Invitational Meet held in the USA.
The team has not been in action since last year’s Olympics.
