Antiguan swimmer takes silver at CCCAN

The 2015 Junior Sportsman of the Year, Lleyton Martin, has won silver at the CCCAN (Central American and Caribbean Amateur Swimming Confederation) Swimming Championships being held in Trinidad.
The Antiguan, who is amongst five national swimmers representing the twin-island state at the new Aquatic Center in Couver, clocked a personal best of 58.57 to finish second in the 100 meters butterfly.
His second place finish came after finishing first in his heat with a time of 59.17 seconds. Martin also competed in the 50 meters backstroke, clocking 30.32 seconds, a personal best, to finish 11th overall.
Meanwhile, Stefano Mitchell finished 13th in the 100 meters butterfly preliminaries with a time of 58.87 seconds while Jadon Wuilliez had a time of 2:41.01 in the 200 meters butterfly.
Samantha Roberts swam her way to a 16th place finish in the 100 butterfly with a time of 1:09.36 seconds while Makaela Holowchak is yet to compete at the championships.
The championships is slated continue on Sunday.
