Fraud case against former UPP Cabinet ministers adjourned

The committal hearing for three members of the opposition United Progressive Party (UPP), who have been charged with fraud, was pushed back from yesterday due to an administrative issue.
The accused are former MPs Harold Lovell, Jacqui Quinn and sitting MP Wilmoth Daniel who were all part of the former UPP administration between 2004 and 2014.
Yesterday, Magistrate Conliffe Clarke told the trio and their attorneys that he had finished writing his decision but was unable to print and deliver it to them due to printer issues.
The new hearing date for the committal process is Tuesday, March 28, Lovell said.
In May last year, charges of larceny, fraudulent conversion and corruption were filed against the UPP political leader, Lovell and his colleagues.
The criminal cases are in relation to three Daewoo buses worth more than $600,000, which were donated to the former UPP administration. It is alleged that the trio converted the buses for personal use and had them registered in their names while they were in public office.
